Myspace Sports is Becoming More Popular
The Women's National Basketball Association or WNBA is the premiere organization that governs the professional basketball league for women in the United States. The WNBA was formed in 1996 as an option for women basketball players, basically the women's equivalent to the National Basketball Association. League play began in 1997 and since then its popularity has continued to grow and it is evident by the increasing number of myspace users who are using WNBA Myspace Sports Backgrounds to personalize their websites.
The regular WNBA season starts in the month of May and plays through to August (North American spring and summer). Most WNBA teams play at the same venue as their NBA counterparts sharing the use of high capacity, state of the art luxury arenas. The league is seperated into two conferences of highly competitive teams. Conferences consist of seven teams in the Eastern Division and seven teams in the Western Division, despite having fewer teams than most other professional myspace sports organizations many WNBA fans have made there presence know on myspace.com.

Each team plays two teams in their conference four times each and play the remaining four teams three times each, which comes out to twenty games total. The final four teams in each conference the highest winning records go on to represent their conference in the WNBA playoffs, which take place during the month of September.
In the middle of July, regular play haults temporarily for the WNBA All Star Game to take place. This a fun time where the players get style and profile with fans and other celebrities. They get an opportunity to high light their individual talents and skill and be the focus of all the countries attention, atleast for the weekend. | |||||||
