When Toronto FC enters the league in 2007, Major League Soccer will surpass the USL First Division as the top soccer league in Canada. The League Champion also qualifies for the chance to compete also. If the Supporter Shield winner also wins the MLS Cup, then the runner up to the Shield will the second qualifier.
